Wedding…Southern Style- Selma, Al Photographer

March 23, 2010

Kalee and Dillon Peak said their “I do’s” on Saturday and let me tell you, it was a wedding to remember!

The bride was glowing in her exquisite gown …the groomsmen were so handsome in their tan suits and vests with matching Windsor ties…the bridesmaids wore J Crew in Tropical Aqua that just echoed “SPRING IS HERE”…the florals were to-die-for via Sam Golson… AND the food was OH SO SOUTHERN and OH SO GOOD!

I must give a few details of the reception!

The wedding took place at 11:00 in the morning.  The brunch reception was one of the best and most creative I’ve seen… I just loved every detail!  The guests dined with Southern ham and biscuits, grits served in wine glasses with all of the fixins’,  a breakfast souffle, pancakes with syrup served in shot glasses, fresh fruit, an array of delicious fruit juices AND the bride’s cake was a mountain of monkey bread drizzled in white icing!   How creative is that?

Love, love, LOVE IT!

Many blessings to Kalee and Dillon!

Enjoy a sneak peek of the Peaks~

More on the ceremony in tomorrow’s blog!

Dillon & Kalee

February 28, 2010

We had an quite an adventurous day with Kalee, Dillon and Mallory as we photographed Kalee and Dillon’s engagement session.   We even went mud riding!   We traveled to Dillon’s Grandma Owen’s farm in Carlowville and OMG….IT was a photographer’s paradise!  The view was amazing!

Kalee and Dillon are such a sweet couple.  Kalee is such a beauty and Dillon just “swoons” over her…soooooo in love!  We can’t wait until the wedding.  Thanks Kalee, Dillon, Grandma Owens, Harriet and Mallory for a fabulous afternoon!

…. A special shout out to Mallory who was THE BEST sun blocker/reflector holder/hair fixer/weed stomper……EVER!  HA! We couldn’t have done it without you!

Enjoy a sneak peak ~

….and this ones for Mallory!

Zack & Lizzie

February 23, 2010

I have sat down 2 times today to blog about our trip to photograph Zack and Lizzie’s engagement in the Georgia mountains.  Have you ever had so much to say about someone or something…that anything that you write just wouldn’t be enough?  Well…that is exactly how I feel about Zack and Lizzie.  Lizzie is a teacher in China and she is as precious as she is beautiful.  Zack is here in the states and will join Lizzie in China after the September wedding.   This lovely couple is so full of JESUS, life, love and wit.  We laughed the entire time!  We had a ball and we caught priceless moments.  Many thanks to Bill, Gay, Zack and Lizzie for a great little vacation and a fabulous shoot!  We love you guys!

Thanks MP, Jean Martin and the Old Depot Museum

February 1, 2010

We spent a very windy and cold afternoon shooting brides for the Selma Times Journal’s Wedding Album.  Time was running out and the deadline was fast approaching.  One of the dresses that we were loaned to shoot was soooo tiny that we could not find a single model for the shoot.  At last resort we decided to try and fit my MP into the dress…Haleluia….it fit!  With a fire truck and a caboose in mind for the shoot, we paid a visit to Jean Martin and the Selma Depot Museum.  We had such a great time visiting with Jean.  She is truly one of Selma’s finest jewels.  I could spend hours with her listening to all of the stories of old Selma.   If  you have not had the chance to visit the Selma Depot Museum…let me tell you…you are missing out on an unbelievable journey through time.   The museum will be having a showing of  some of it’s photos and treasures at The Harmony Club in the upcoming week.  It will be FABULOUS!  You don’t want to miss it!

Here are a few snaps of our MP, Mrs. Jean Martin and the Old Depot Museum.

Bridal Magazine Shoot

January 20, 2010

We were honored to be asked to be the featured photographer for The Bridal Album that will be reaching the central Alabama area.  The weather was not our friend on Sunday…so we headed down to our Studio for a few shots.  The skies cleared  on Monday and we  began shooting in east Selma.    A local garage generously loaned us the great old truck in these photos.  I can’t thank these guys enough.   There is so much treasure in Selma for photography…the finds are endless!   Enjoy a few of our favorite photos from a great weekend!

OH!

Studio update…

We are THRILLED to announce that the heating system is now complete and the rest of the furniture will be in by the weekend.  We are only days away from normal business hours and a LANDLINE phone to better serve our customers.  MANY thanks to all of our customers for being so patient with us as we have worked so hard to keep up with the busy holiday season and work on renovating our studio.  Everyone  has been so understanding…THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!  It’s been lots of hard work and we are so excited that opening day is almost here!  We look forward to having normal hours and finally being ORGANIZED!  We will be having an open house soon and  hope to see all of you as we showcase some of our favorite work and our grand old building!

Much Love,

~Kathy & Camille
